Cote d'Ivoire's (aka Ivory Coast) flag is a mirror image of the flag of the Republic of Ireland.
The flag's design is based on the French tri-colour. The orange on the flag is meant to represent the savanna grasslands, thewhite represents the country's rivers, and the green represents its forests.
The country keeps close ties to France since independence in 1960. It remains one of the more prosperous African countries due to foreign investment and cocao production for export.
